About Us

KSU's Summer Intern Housing Program provides a convenient home base for students 18 and older interning in the Greater Atlanta or Cobb County area. With housing options on both the ×îÉ«µ¼º½ and Marietta Campuses, you’ll have easy access to major highways, including I-75 and I-285, making your commute simple.

The Marietta Campus places you closer to downtown, while the ×îÉ«µ¼º½ Campus offers affordable accommodations just 15 miles north of Atlanta. Choose KSU for a comfortable, convenient stay that surpasses traditional rentals!

  • When packing for your summer internship, remember that you’ll be sharing a space with three other interns who may or may not be part of your program. The apartment is furnished but does not include personal items. Below is a list of recommended items to bring for your stay at ×îÉ«µ¼º½.

All placements are based on availability. Approved interns must sign a short-term housing contract.

Housing Policies

  • No alcohol or drugs may be consumed or brought onto the Licensed Premises.
  • No smoking or tobacco use is permitted in any room or apartment or in KSU’s buildings.
  • No firearms, weapons, ammunition (except as specifically allowed by applicable federal or state law), fireworks, explosives or highly flammable materials are permitted within KSU’s buildings or on KSU’s property.
  • Except for service animals, no animals are permitted in rooms or apartments or in KSU’s buildings without prior written permission from Housing and Residence Life (HRL).
  • No hot plates or cooking appliances are permitted in rooms or apartments. Cooking may be allowed in kitchen areas only (if applicable).
  • No remodeling or renovating of rooms or furniture will be permitted, including, but not limited to, tampering with electrical or mechanical fixtures, placing of antennas or appliances out of windows or removing or adding furniture without permission from HRL.
  • No alterations whatsoever of the rooms or apartments are permitted, including attaching any objects with adhesives, nails or screws without permission from HRL.
  • No tampering with or removal of windows or window screens from any part of any building within the Licensed Premises is permitted.
  • No tampering with the fire system or firefighting equipment is permitted.
  • No removal of lounge or common area furniture into individual rooms or apartments without permission from HRL.
  • No gambling or solicitation in any form is permitted.
  • No parking in the service or fire lanes adjacent to KSU’s buildings is permitted. 

 

The Housing Policies are a subset of the KSU Codes of Conduct and applies to all clients and guests utilizing ×îÉ«µ¼º½ facilities. Please know that this is not an exhaustive list of policies; however, all clients and guests shall abide by the rules and regulations found in the Residential Handbook and the KSU Codes of Conduct.

Purchase a Membership

$10 per week or $30 per month

To purchase a membership while on campus, visit the Administration Office at the Dr. Betty L. Siegel Student Recreation and Activities Center, ×îÉ«µ¼º½ Campus, during business hours. We accept debit/credit cards and Apple/Google Pay. A valid government-issued photo ID is required.

Once your membership is processed, you’ll receive full access to both facilities with your guest Talon Card.

Details and Requirements

  • Interns must be 18 years old to apply.
  • Providing a copy of your driver’s license, birth certificate or passport are acceptable ways to confirm your age.
  • A signed letter from your company’s Human Resources Department or your direct supervisor.
  • Yes, you need to pay $500 when you accept the online contract. This amount is non-refundable but will be credited towards your total bill.
  • Full rent is due one (1) business day before you check in. The exact amount and due dates will be in your customer portal.
  • No, state policy, requires that rent be paid in full.
  • Except for the pre-payment, you can get a refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before check-in by emailing overnightexperiences@kennesaw.edu.

Check-In and Check-Out Information

  • Friday, May 16, 2025, at 12:00 PM
  • You will get this information via email based on your lodging assignment.
  • Staff is available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with some flexible hours on weekends. Please coordinate your arrival time before you arrive.
  • Friday, August 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM. You must check out by 3:00 PM.
  • You will check out with an Overnight Experiences Team Member. Specific instructions will be provided in your welcome guide.

Lodging

  • Bedrooms are single occupancy. You might share an apartment or suite with others, but not a bedroom. Room assignments are made by the Overnight Experiences Program.
  • Yes, but both you AND your roommate MUST request each other on your applications. Only requests from roommates of the same gender will be honored.
  • No, you must provide your own toilet paper and are responsible for the cleanliness of your unit, bathroom and bedroom. Trash receptacles are located near the residence halls.
  • Yes, please let the Overnight Experience Team know of any special requirements in your application.
  • Yes, there is a designated parking area, and wireless Internet is included in your rent. More information will be in your welcome guide.

Amazon Lockers

Campus guests who shop through Amazon.com can have their items conveniently shipped to our campus Amazon Hub Lockers — "Doughnut" at the ×îÉ«µ¼º½ Campus and "Dugout" at the Marietta Campus. When you check out, choose one of these convenient Amazon Hub Locker locations.

When your package is ready to be picked up, you will receive an email notification from Amazon with a shipment tracking ID and a unique pick-up barcode. You can access the lockers anytime the Student Centers are open. To open the locker, scan your barcode or enter the tracking ID on the Amazon Hub Locker screen. You have three (3) days to pick up your package. If you do not pick up your package, it will be returned for a full refund.
